What a fun first month! When I launched on January 1st, I didn’t know what to expect or deem myself ready for that step. 

I worked as hard as I could at the end of December to be “ready” for launch (whatever that meant). I wrote and wrote and wrote, labored endlessly on website design, and constantly debated whether or not I was doing “enough” to be ready to launch this site. After a moment of doubt on December 27th (quite literally the 11th hour) during which I debated delaying the launch by several weeks, I finally looked at myself and said enough is enough. We’re going live, as planned, on January 1st, and I will not let my perfectionism get in the way. I recalled some good advice I found in a random corner of the internet – “done is better than perfect.” 

From there, it was simple: keep posting what I enjoy. I had no expectations for this page other than to use it as an outlet to express my musings in a longer form than Instagram would allow, and things took off quite swimmingly. Soon enough, I was getting into a rhythm and posting multiple articles each week. 

Sitting here on February 1st, looking back to that day when I closed my eyes and clicked “publish,” is a bit like looking back on a younger version of yourself (granted, on a much smaller scale). I wish I could go back and tell the person I was a month ago that it is not that serious. Just post! Figure it out later! Keeping that at the forefront of my mind has saved me quite a bit of stress over these last 31 days.

I want to thank everyone who has viewed and interacted with this blog so far. I am grateful for your support as I find my footing and continue to explore my interests. My numbers may not be the highest in the world, but I’m excited to see where I can go from here.
